David Ramirez' fourth full-length album, We're Not Going Anywhere, is a big step forward. The sound has expanded and draws inspiration from 80s bands like The Cars and Journey, while the lyrics reflect the increasingly harsh political climate in the USA. The album follows up 2015's Fables, which was the first to be released via a label; Nashville-based Thirty Tigers. It was also the first time he received a budget to pay for studio recordings and hire touring musicians. The album was a great success and was praised by, among others, Stereogum, NPR, and The Wall Street Journal. The single Harder to Lie also became a viral hit on Spotify.

Growing up in Houston, Texas, David took piano lessons as a child, but baseball was his first love. It wasn't until high school that his new classmates took him to an audition. He got a taste for it and realized how much he loved to play. This newfound love motivated him to pick up an acoustic guitar and start writing his own songs. The rest, as they say, is history.
