Linse, diameter

The base curve or BC is the back curvature of a contact lens. It's used to match the curvature of the lens to your eye to provide the best fit and comfort. The lower the number, the steeper the curve of your cornea. Diameter or DIA is the distance across the surface of your lens, from edge to edge.

Basiskurve (BC)

Used in contact lenses. Indicates the strength of your prescription. Distance prescriptions usually have a (-) before the number. Reading prescriptions will usually have a (+) before the number.

Effektområde

AXIS is present only if there is a value for CYL. This indicates the angle in degrees of one of two major meridians the prescribed cylindrical power is in. Which major meridian is referenced is indicated by the cylindrical correction being in plus or minus notation. The axis is measured on an imaginary semicircle with a horizontal baseline that starts with zero degrees in the 3 o'clock direction (as viewed by the person making the measurement), and increases to 180 degrees in a counter-clockwise direction.

AXIS

The material from which a thing is or can be made e.g. wood

Materiale

The percentage of the total weight or volume that consists of water.

Vandindhold

Indicates whether the product is designed to block or filter harmful ultraviolet radiation.

Ultraviolet (UV) beskyttelse

The average thickness of the lens at its geometric centre, measured in mm.

Nominel centertykkelse

D being diffusivity (cm2/sec)--a measure of how fast the oxygen moves through the material.

Oxygenpermeabilitet (Dk)

The measure of the amount of oxygen that can pass through the material of the device to the cornea.
