The LEGO Liebherr R9800 is one colossal model, yet due to several great functionalities, also very elegant! A fun and pretty straightforward build experience, with excellent final visuals. More than 4000 pieces makes it fairly valuable regarding cost per piece ratio. Most impressive feats are its motorized functions, powered by two battery hubs. The model is controlled from the Control+ bluetooth app, and (Once connected!) it works beautifully. Have patience though: The connectivity is bland, to say at least, and frustrating loading screens to be expected. That said, it won’t change the overall experience: The LEGO Liebherr R9800 truly manages to impress. Highly recommendable for all LEGO fans!

Hours of fun. Awesome value for what it does! Setting up the control app only adds to the fun after it’s finished.

This is my 5th Lego Technic set and the biggest in size and pieces, I have the Ferrari on lay-by at a local store. I enjoyed building this set every moment was fun and sometimes challenging, I have learnt from my previous builds to sort the pieces first to make it easier to find what your looking for! I couldn’t tell you how long it took to build but it was finished too soon. My TV can mirror my phone so I set up in front of it and have my instructions on the big screen which was so much easier to see what I had to do. I was missing 1 little piece that is on its way but it thankfully isn’t an important piece and was able to finish the build without it. I look forward to building plenty more Lego for years to come. Thank you Lego for such amazing kits to keep us big kids building…

This was really enjoyable personally, as it was interesting to see the parallels between the Lego product and the real thing (I had the displeasure of working on the machines for a short while), and really cool to watch the gearing come together. The only two points of improvement would be: 1. Add in an additional 1x8 black straight line piece. This can sit at the base where the hydraulic cables curve in from the boom, and can replicate a very similar black (or just greasy) rubber piece that often exists on the real things. That may be a Hitachi or Terex memory, but I think if it is added as a liberty even, it will help clean up those lines. 2. My big desired change would be the ability to somehow adjust the track, boom, stick, slew, bucket, etc, positions without batteries. That would no doubt be a whole new engineering challenge however! It would still be nice if the finished product didn't turn to stone unless you have the correct batteries handy :). Really cool product, and as always, I marvel while putting it together!

During the test, the crane was able to move up and down. However, when I toggle it on the app to make it move up, the crane only moves down. I have no idea how to fix this
