All 17-year-old Minoru Kageno (voice of Seiichiro Yamashita) has ever wanted is to become a mastermind who manipulates events from the shadows. When he is hit by a truck and killed, he is reborn into a fantasy world as Cid Kagenou and decides to take the opportunity to realise his dream. Spreading word that the world is being controlled by the villainous Cult of Diablos, he claims to be the leader of a secret society called Shadow Garden whose goal is to defeat the cultists and restore peace. However, when he eventually realises that the Cult of Diablos is actually very real and very dangerous, he must lead the members of Shadow Garden as they fight to save the world.
