It's been a couple of years since the Fimbulwinter started; the cold is getting more and more intense in the kingdom of Midgard.
Kratos and Atreus try to hide, after trying everything they can to avoid the end of time getting closer and closer. They train every day for the inevitable, always trying by all means to change the course of destiny.

Atreus tries to interpret the clues that his mother left him and to understand what role will be prophesied for him in the impending war. Meanwhile, Kratos opposes his son's desire to find out more about his identity, knowing that it will lead them to the vengeful Aesir. If this were to happen, they would find themselves one step away from repeating the nefarious mistakes of the past.

Together, father and son delve into the Nine Realms as Asgard's militias prepare for war. On their way they will immerse themselves in splendid mythical landscapes and face fearsome enemies in the form of Norse gods and monsters.
