All three episodes of the documentary narrated by Kate Fleetwood which follows the progress made by a team of Italian archaeologists as they undertake the most extensive excavation at Pompeii in decades. Over the course of a year, a huge area in the north of the city is unearthed and the archaeologists attempt to identify the buildings, which include a commercial bakery, as well as the fates of the people who lived and worked there. The episodes are: 'The Bodies', 'Escape' and 'The Final Hours'.
