Osbourne Cox is a CIA agent fighting to keep his nose above the surface. He is getting nowhere in terms of work or his marriage and has a drinking problem. Harry Pfarrer works at the Ministry of Finance and vainer than is good for him. Among other things, he spends his free time online dating behind his wife’s back, constructing sex toys in the basement and he also has a relationship with Osbourne Cox’s malcontent wife. When Osbourne is fired, he decides to write his memoirs, even if he actually has nothing to tell. However, a draft happens to be mislaid and Harry Pfarr’s second lover and her colleague are convinced that they have got their hands on s uper-secret information and can become rich by blackmail. Love and business get tangled up and, in the end, no one knows who can trust whom and the question that everyone ultimately asks themselves is: How smart is the CIA really?
