Tobias Wiklund is a bit Danish, mostly Swedish. A bit of a trumpeter, mostly a cornetist and as such not only a great instrumentalist, but also a creative composer. Tobias has openly engaged in a variety of musical contexts. When he is in charge, his music demands something of its listeners, but it is always both rigorous and compelling. He has distinguished himself among younger wind players who have chosen the cornet over the trumpet. The cornet has a less sharp and darker sound, and many find that this instrument makes their personal expression even clearer. These musicians also often have a different approach to jazz. They like to revisit its 'past' and often rediscover forgotten or overlooked characteristics of 'good old jazz'. It has been a common perception that the evolution of jazz is based on rebellion and distancing oneself from previous periods in the genre's relatively short history. This is certainly not always the case and not in the case of Tobias Wiklund.

From the moment Tobias Wiklund heard his first Louis Armstrong record, he knew that music could do something special and magical. He was just a little boy, but the language of music spoke to him. When he recounts this life-changing moment, he lights up like a child on Christmas Eve: "When I heard that music and then started playing it myself, I felt like I became part of it - that I was no longer separate, but connected."
INNER FIGHT MUSIC is an album that tells the story of this connection. It tells of Tobias' personal experience of music as a bridge between the human and the divine. The ten original tracks explore man's relationship with the universe, both concretely in the compositions and abstractly through improvisation. Music's ability to give shape to deep experiences and longings is not just hippie talk.

On INNER FIGHT MUSIC, he further demonstrates his talent as a composer on a larger scale. He is collaborating with, among others, the prestigious Blåsarsymfonikerna, a Swedish institution with over 100 years of history focusing on wind instruments and percussion. A number of musicians from different musical backgrounds also participate, but rest assured that Wiklund's compositions create a clear and coherent musical identity.
INNER FIGHT MUSIC consists of 10 compositions, ranging from duo format to symphonic wind orchestra. The compositions open up for interaction and musical interplay at a high level. With Wiklund's ability to combine tradition and modernity, composition and improvisation, he has created a unique musical universe that speaks to both heart and intellect.
