Weighing just 420 grams and 88.9mm in length, this new lens is the lightest and most compact of all high-power lenses for 50mm Sony FE cameras.

The optical design of the lens consists of 11 elements (including 2 ASP, 3 HR and 1 ED), divided into 8 groups. Second-generation innovations keep up with the demands of Sony's modern sensors – the entire image field is exemplary sharp and contrasty. A nine-lamella diaphragm creates pleasingly blurred out-of-focus areas

The Samyang Linear STM focusing motor used in the lens excels at accurately and quickly moving large and heavy lens assemblies, making the work of photographers and videographers unprecedentedly smooth.

On the side of the lens you will find a switch that allows you to use the focus ring to change the aperture, for example. With subsequent software updates, the user will be able to assign other functions to this switch using the Samyang Lens Station.

Similar to the recently introduced AF 24-70 f/2.8 FE zoom lens, the 50mm II focus ring is well gripped with a permanent micro-textured rubber coating, and seals protect the lens from dust and weather.
