Low-budget Euro shocker directed by Spanish horror maverick Jess Franco. Dr Alan Harker (Antonio Mayans) arrives at the sinister, crumbling mansion of his former university professor, Dr Roderic Usher (Howard Vernon), to find the old man in the grip of madness and paranoia. His daughter Melissa (Fran?oise Blanchard) is in a coma, and Usher repeatedly tries to revive her with the blood of abducted, murdered women. On top of this, he is continually taunted by the vampire-ghost of his dead wife Helen (Lina Romay). Allen finds himself unable to escape the mounting horrors, bloodspill and sheer uncontrolled terror that grip the house, which reach their terrifying climax when Usher is finally torn apart by wailing demons of the dead and thrown into Hell.
