Game Party for the Nintendo Wii has brought seven classic party games to the world of video games. The lineup of games includes physically active contests like darts, table hockey, and hoop shoot, as well as low-intensity games such as ski ball, ping cup, shuffleboard, and trivia. Game Party can be played alone or with friends. Several competitions allow up to four users to play simultaneously, and the results of all multi-player contests are tracked on the leader boards. In the Game Party Video Game, the physical movements involved are similar to the movements players use in the real-life version of the game. For example, to use the Nintendo Wii controller to play darts, a user can bring the controller to eye level and then flick rapidly toward his or her waist, replicating the movement one would use in an actual game of darts. The Game Party Video Game comes with 175 pre-installed characters, 50 of which are locked. Gamers can unlock these additional characters by winning tickets through various contests within the game. Additionally, each game is designed with appropriate atmosphere. The game of darts, for example, is set in a British pub, while table hockey has sports-themed surroundings.
