When underworld crime boss Munna Bhai (Sanjay Dutt) falls head over heels in love with radio broadcaster Jahnvi (Vidya Balan), he decides to engineer a meeting with her by assuming the identity of a professor specialising in the life and times of Mahatma Gandhi in order to take part in a competition held by her radio station.
