Kristina Jansson s paintings involves a work process that draws inspiration from current and historical events, with references from various media and popular culture. Furthermore, Jansson investigates different types of spaces: private, public and temporary fictional architectural spaces such as the theater stage, the film set, the music studio and the museum. Jansson s work is at the same time seeking and evasive, and she has consistently returned to the question of the importance of painting as a medium in our time. Through processing fragments from our collective stream of images via intuition, perception, and memory she uses painting as a visually seductive construction.
