Larry (Stanley Tucci), an American musician, who has settled on the island, hopes to stage a concert in memory of a famous composer who lived there. Things become tricky when Larry finds that there is a feud between the composer's widow Veronica (Marisa Paredes) and his beautiful 'muse' Helena (Emmanuelle Seigner). Complication piles on complication as Larry discovers that he has a previously unknown daughter, Frankie (Jena Malone), who, having found her father, proceeds to have an affair with the concert's pianist Narcisco Ortega (Virgile Bramly). In a fit of fatherly protection, Larry injures Narcisco's hands and all of his plans begin to fall apart. Will Larry's dreams ever come to fruition?
