After the sudden death of her mother, street-smart 17-year-old Caroline Wexler (Kat Dennings) moves to a small town where her father has a new job. Bored with her new classmates and eager for excitement, Caroline decides to seduce one of her teachers, Mr Anderson (Josh Lucas), who, although wary at first, soon finds himself under the teenager's spell. Things start to get complicated, however, when one of her classmates, Thurston (Reece Thompson), also falls for her charms, triggering a love triangle, much to the annoyance of the jealous Mr Anderson.
