A down-at-heel ex-football player (Jeff Bridges) is hired by a nightclub owner (James Woods) to trace his girlfriend (Rachel Ward). The search takes him to Mexico where he tracks down and falls in love with the girl and finds himself in a complex situation. Also starring Richard Widmark. The film is a loose remake of the 1974 movie `Out of the Past'.
