Determined to get his own back, Ripley arranges for Trevanny to become involved in a plot to kill a Russian gangster. But the situation soon spins out of control, and Ripley is forced to intervene once again. Based on the novel by Patricia Highsmith, which was previously adapted by Wim Wenders as 'The American Friend' (1977).
