However, life amongst his new relatives isn't easy, with his brother-in-law Edgar (Douglas Henshall) taking an immediate dislike to him, and Eugenia's own behaviour becoming increasingly erratic. She produces many children, is passionately sexual, yet keeps very distant from William.
